Resume Writing Using Verbs

Professional Resume Writing Services                   Professional Cover Letter Writing

Describe your experiences in phrases that start with a past-tense action word. Bullet each item. Bullets and descriptive verbs in the past tense produce statements that are more vivid and illustrative. These verbs are particularly effective:

  • directed, managed, supervised, led;
  • delivered, achieved, increased, generated, instituted, devised, designed, formulated;
  • decreased, reduced, cut, resolved;
  • created, developed, established, performed, pioneered, planned, produced, transformed, introduced and saved.

Avoid using the same words over and over again. Try writing different words that say the same thing in an alternative way.
